Well there's so much to catch you all up on.. We're 37 weeks, nursery is done and ready for Alexis, Thanksgiving is almost here, and we've been having contractions on and off here and there but nothing serious enough to go to the hospital. We had our Dr appt yesterday and we have set an inducement date for Dec. 1st. Yah!

23 Weeks - Life just got a lot crazier.
23 Weeks pregnant -
Yesterday we went in for our normal OB appt and to take our 1 hour glucose test to test for gestational diabetes. We drank the fruit punch glucose drink, waited an hour, had our blood taken and went on our way.
After our OB appt, we met my dad for his dr appt to see if he has to have back surgery and after several hours there we found that he is having emergency surgery on Monday. Although we are nervous, we are hoping this will finally help him with the horrible back/leg pain he has been having for weeks.
After spending hours in doctor's office we treated ourselves to going to Macy's and buying a super cute outfit for the little one.
As we were on our way home, we get a call from the Dr. Dooley, our OB, who called to inform us that the results of our 1 hr glucose test were not good. My blood sugar was suppose to be under 140 and was actually 220. Instead of wasting our time with a 3 hr glucose test, she informed us that she was going to diagnose me with gestational diabetes and that we are now considered "High Risk"...
What does this mean? Well first it means that my diet changed immediately after she called, I must now be much more conscious as to what I put in my mouth. It also means that more than likely we will not make full term and instead will more than likely deliver around 38 wks. This is because mother's who have gestational diabetes tend to have babies with an extremely large birth weight.
What's next? Well Monday sometime during waiting for my Dad to come out of surgery, I will be meeting with Dr. Dooley and then will be meeting with a diabetes counselor.
I know there's nothing I could've done to prevent this but I am just very frustrated with myself. Life just got a lot crazier.

Well Here We Are...
Well Here We Are....21 weeks pregnant.. waiting for our little one to join us so that we can start our family.. There's been so much going on that we figured this was the best way to keep everyone updated....
We had another OB appt yesterday and had our second anatomy ultrasound after she was a little stubborn at the first one. Of course, she's still a girl and she was a good little girl and let the tech see all our her little organs and bones. The Dr said she looked great, extremely healthy and weighs 14 oz.. (almost a pound)...
We've been working hard to get the nursery all set up. With the exception of curtains and wall art, it's ready for our little snuggle bunny.. We've posted pictures for you to see. :)
Scott had a long talk with her yesterday before the appointment letting her know that if she was a good little girl and let the tech see all that she needed that he would buy her something (already spoiling his little girl) so when we got home last night he bought her an awesome "gentle giraffe" stuffed animal that has four different sounds including the mommy's sound..
